Decorating Clay: Making Simple Forms Beautiful (4-week Course)

In this Pottery Course, you will learn the fundamental skills of hand building with clay, while also developing your own artistic style in a fun and encouraging environment. You’ll work at your own pace and as your confidence grows, you will move on to creating simple clay forms and learn various surface decorative techniques to make them beautiful. Caring guidance and technical support will be provided. 

Students will work at their own pace. We will concentrate on your specific projects and cover various surface decorative techniques with technical support provided throughout the creative process.

With a maximum of 6 students per session, you’ll get the attention you need. All clay, glazes and tools are supplied. Participants can have up to 4 pieces decorated, fired and clear glazed in the 4-week Pottery Course. If you want to make more, then we can do that for $15 per piece

Students need to bring an old shirt, a cloth apron and wear closed-in shoes.

Your instructor will be Tanya Bechara, who has been a potter and ceramics artist since 1999 and has been teaching adults since 2005 and children since 2009. Tanya has won several awards for her ceramic art and her work is collected both nationally and internationally. 

 

Classes cannot be rescheduled without 48-hours' notice. A minimum of 4 students is required for a course to go ahead.
